Where do you source your teas?
We source our teas from the finest tea producers around the world. We source from the top tea-producing nations of China, Taiwan, Japan, India, and Sri Lanka as well as France, Kenya, Brasil and South-Africa.
Do you work with the highest food regulations?
Yes! All of our teas are tracked from plant to our door and tested in a lab. Before we sell out, our testers test the teas to ensure they fit to the European foodstuff regulations (which are the highest in the world) and our tasters taste if the tea fits to the expected taste.
How much caffeine is there in a cup of tea?
It’s hard to say for sure! There are a ton of factors that can change the amount of caffeine in your cup, such as water temperature and steeping time. Although it’s virtually impossible to measure the exact amount of caffeine in every cup, we recommend to bear the following in mind:
White tea: Low in caffeine
Green tea: Low in caffeine
Oolong tea: Medium caffeine
Black tea: High in caffeine
Rooibos: No caffeine
Herbal blends: No caffeine
Maté: High in caffeine
How long does your tea stay fresh?
To maximize the freshness our teas are packed in airtight bags in our temperature controlled storage. After you place your order your tea is manually packed and send out within 24hrs.
To keep your teas fresh at home, always store them in the stay-fresh pouch or one of our storage tins at a cool, dry, dark place and keep them well sealed. To make sure you’re always getting the best cup of tea possible, we recommend you follow these guidelines:
• Teas and infusions with fruits and nuts: consume within 6 months from date of purchase.
• Straight teas: consume within 12 months from date of purchase.
Are there teas I should avoid while pregnant or breastfeeding?
For personal health questions, it is best to speak to your healthcare provider. All of our teas have detailed ingredient lists, so you have all the info you need to ask your doctor whether specific blends or ingredients are right for you.
Where can I find a complete list of ingredients and more info about allergies?
Each tea’s product page contains a full list of ingredients. We always make sure to call out any priority allergen (like peanuts, dairy, or gluten). However, keep in mind that our teas don’t come from certified nut- or dairy-free facilities. So if you have a severe allergy, we recommend you talk to your physician before drinking our teas.
What are orthodox teas?
Orthodox teas are also called origin teas, or straight teas. They are the purest variety straight from the tea estate to your cup. They come in different varieties, from White Tea to Lemon Verbena.
What are blended teas?
These are your flavoured teas, it could either be a mix (like Sencha Chai) or a blend (like Earl Grey).
